I think thread.de-railing should be allowed on certain posts. Like edge of thr forum, as it doesn't really ruin the site as a whol. I think it's fun to see, because naturally, coversation flows.

a while ago @trashghoul the rule if i remember correctly was, on EOTF you can derail, but- the og poster had to be ok with it, and ONLY EOTF was allowed derailment

Edge of the forum doesn't award rep, therefore, it is okay.

Anywhere else, absolutely not.
