This is very true. Hamsters are also a good example, I saw my niece watching a "Funny hamster compalation" and It's jus hamsters in stressful situations and getting hurt.

also ive noticed that alot of ppl who cant even take care of themselves get pets especially in the hood theres so many cats and dogs just in the streets, idk whats up with poor people owning pets (like my bio dad getting a whole dog when he cant even give me 20$????) the pet industry in general is just so bad and alot of ppl shouldn't have pets and alot of pets are marketed as being easier to take care of then they rlly are:/

@itscookiebear
That's horrific wtf? Does Pet Smart even care? -
buying pets from small businesses is definitely the way to go, i got my betta at school of fish and he was kept in a tank with other fish instead of a cup at the store and so was another betta they had, now i have him in a tank with other fish and he doesnt attack them or anything, so i have a theory that some bettas are aggressive not only bc of genes but how theyre isolated in small stressful cups at the stores (i could be wrong tho)

Man.. they treat all small animals like toys. Small tanks/cages, horrible food, etc. -
and pet smart is suppose to love and care for animals
-
i remember when ppl put live fish in keychaines

Keeping fish in cups for long periods... definitely abuse. Man, that reminds me of those carnival games where you can win a fish if you throw a ball in their cups. Literal torture and they get sold off anyways. -

@itscookiebear its a big business so ofc they dont care, also alot of their fish have terrible genes bc of inbreading, another reason why small businesses usually are better

i saw a vid on tiktok and the label was 'hes acting like he broke his arm or smth' but then the kid ACTUALLY broke his arm falling and they showed it and it was so weird bc it had a bunch of likes. who tf would post that, let alone joke abt it and how could ppl find it funny? i was so disgusted
i feel like social media has made ppl way to desensitized
-
does anyone remember the "funny tiktok comps"on yt and half the vids were of people (mostly kids) doing something like, say, falling?? idk how its funny to see people get seriously injured
