so for me, this is likely the bns dark ages, the userbase isn't really making too many posts I find interesting and the bugs and of course who can forget the shitty management/moderation of the forum itself as of late

Yup i agree, the site's been especially buggy recently

As a technically new person to BDNS (having only joined July of this year), I think that it's just been okay tbh, haven't experienced any good months (yet, #bringbackdownvotes)

@Rorschach I think it was because of people.. ..downvote spamming? Honestly not sure why they couldn't have just disabled it for the people who were doing it instead of everyone having it disabled

@JadeF1re it's deadass just numbers on a screen and our woke userbase usually has a fairly reasonable reason to downvote, also there was limits on down voting to begin with. I really don't think it'd be reasonable to just disallow a few random users to downvote, you might find like 10 down votes on a really disliked post but it's all different people unless someone has like 10 alt accounts. I feel like also a downvote is a good way to allow someone to express their dislike for something without starting an argument, I feel like a downvote is actually more mild than if someone replied with a negative comment.

and the thing about it hurting people's reputation score and/or it making them unable to add banners back along with other things is kind of silly, i've been down voted a ton before because of a shitpost, I easily recovered from it and it was back when you needed rep to access DMs.

Either way they removed downvotes for some sort of controversial reason, my life is miserable and my day is ruined
