I'm thinking about starting a SoundCloud and I'm just interested in hearing advice, from producing beats to getting collabs to listens to whatever you wanna offer :) I pretty much know nothing about ts so anything would be helpful thxxxx love u all <3

@spamburger how do you come up with melodies? Like I don't even know how to time beats n shi I know pretty much nth about music other than song lyric writing

@Eggyz999 You just need to learn simple chords in all keys, learn about time signature etc, which I think comes with learning piano. Really, you just need a bit of music theory, like what chord would go along with a specific single note. Knowing about all of the different keys would also be helpful. The most common time signature is 4/4, which means a quarter note = 1 beat, and there are 4 beats in each measure. The most basic key is C major (because it requires no sharp or flat notes). So I just recommend studying up a bit, and you'll have a clearer direction in general.

Me personally, I learned piano, learning music theory along with it, but you could probably just watch some videos etc. It takes a bit of time, but if you work at it you'll understand. You just need to know what notes you're using, what key you're playing in, and some tempo. It isn't very hard.

@Eggyz999 I did make a song a while ago and did manage to get it published. It's Escapism by Lanerdude Studios (My switch username lol). What do you have access to? I made my song and a few other unreleased songs on GarageBand on my iPad a few years ago, and if you have access to GB, especially on iPad, I would argue that it's the best software for beginner music makers there is. You can pick a template, and build off of it and you can change absolutely everything, or start on a clean slate. They also have a wide array of virtual instruments that you can play and make music to record like guitar, piano, drums, keyboard, etc.

if you want, i can dm you and tell you how to install paint voice and utau voice banks, you can run it on a shitty android trac phone so you should be ok to run it on whatever device you own. if you have pc, i could try to help you with the free version of the software that has voice banks like new teto, xi yi, ect

now, ik you may think voicaloid is cringe, but if you found a voice bank you like, you probably wouldn't mind. if you tune it properly and such, you might not know its a voice bank unless you reconize the sound. utatu is another option, you can use that instead of paint voice if your on pc, paint voice is like the mobile version of utau. utau was made to basically be the free version of vocaloid, katsane teto was dead [censored] made to be a parody of hatsune miku
