If a woman can hit a man, why cant a man hit a women?

I think it's down to what's happened in the past. Historically it's been considered a normal practice to hit your wife, girlfriend, daughter etc. Since the suffragette movement however, it's changed significantly. I think they thought that if I woman hit a man that she'd be weak and it'd be okay. Since then i'd say we've evolved and we're taught that it's not okay to hit anybody. Unless in obvious circumstances like self defence or boxing

@Aries support, i agree. i think your view was great on this, we have become better since the past, and i think really we should have ordinances or laws to protect eachother, aswell as help defend agianst blackmail and abuse, this will be my last post in this topic, as its very contraversial.

I think if someone is jumping you, it does not matter if they are male, female, nonbinary or a zenogender that uses toaster/toasterself pronouns. I live down south and I have met men that wouldn't hit a woman if their life was on the line. I feel like we shouldn't hit, we learn that as toddlers, but if some woman has a weapon and is threating your life or someone elses, idgaf if "she's weak" or "it's not fair" hit dat woman and do whatever you need to, it doesn't matter in this context vro

@StarryPeach you'd think this would be common sense, but I think it depends on where you live ig, down south men feel very strongly against this and it's sad, if some crazy woman was tryna hurt you or your homeboy or your gf or whatever, you have the right to defend yourself

ngl i kinda hate this question bc it implies that men cant and dont hit women all the time and get away with it.... which they do, atleast where i live (my bio dad attacked my mom multiple times and my sisters mom, and my friends dad still hits his mom, and my cousins dad also beat their mom and hes the only one who went to jail for it.)

yes it is frown upon, (as it should be) but they still can and do REGULARLY
men shouldnt hit women because most of the time they dont need to. its no secret that the average man could easily kill the average women in a fight, even if a women slaps you, its not gonna hurt you nearly as much as a man PUNCHING her in response likely would.

anyways obviously men should defend themselves, but that leads to another thing

men often over do it, if a women slaps you, that does not justify beating her bloody, this may sound like common sense but ive seen it in real life, it isnt rare for a man to justify severely injuring a women because it was 'self defense',

there is fine line between self defense and assault that alot of men do cross whether its on purpose or not.

i feel like this is a very relevant point of view and its a shame that its not talked about as much and that these conversations are often watered down to "self defense it doesnt matter self defense" because its so surface level and fails to actually address anything meaningful and also can be used to force this narrative that men are oppressed in this modern age which just... isnt true TvT

ALSO not to drag it but the phrase 'if a women can hit a man..' is hella misleading like irl if a women hits a man, atleast where i live, shes getting her [censored] BEAT and also while women do abuse men sometimes men usually are the ones hitting them so once again, it pushes this narrative that men are mainly the victims (which majority of them arent)

Men are stronger than women on average so it would result in a bunch of problems. It's really a respect thing and I'm glad it was grandfathered in because it certainly lowers the odds of men hitting women (Still happens but anything that helps is a positive B3)
