Like how dumb do you have to be to intentionally suppress BASIC SURVIVAL INSTINCTS (if they naturally have them of course, not talking about people with mental disorders) in in favor of literally just being a worse person. Like it would genuinely be more "selfish" to actually help other people when you can, since there's a good chance that those people would try to help you out too or at least benefit the society that they LIVE IN BTW. There is actually zero personal benefit for these people to be such despicable human beings for no valid reason, they usually just end up making everything worse for no reason. It would be 10x more beneficial for people like that to be a decent human being than be straight up evil and think that their lives would be improved in the long-term by hurting others.

I don't mean like people with mental disorders that prevent them from naturally avoiding hurting other people, I mean like people who go out of their way to hurt others with specifically fake logic like "hurting others actually is good because it helps me" or something dumb like that

There are some people who literally can not feel empathy what so ever and it isn’t their fault, but there are also some people (including some users on here >:/ ) that fake not being able to feel empathy because it’s “quirky” (like how people fake Tourette syndrome or autism)

@UnpaidIntern again, some people literally can’t tell the difference between hurting people or not or they get joy out of it and it isn’t their faults, they usually get therapy for it. The people you’re referring to are the people that fake it because “I’m so quirky LOL XD #lookatme”, when people do this it ends up leaving a bad impression on people to where posts like this get made (not saying it to be mean I’m being genuine). It hurts the people that actually suffer with a mental illness or disorder that prevents them from caring or seeing that what they’re doing is wrong.

And trust me, I’ve dealt with one of these fakers and it’s left such a big impact on me that I can’t look at big emails without wanting to cry (live laugh get harassed and cussed out every day for months straight for literally anything). These people suck absolute [censored] and I hope that they can grow up and realize “oh shit, being a terrible person because I think it’s cool for some reason is actually really awful! Especially for those around me and the one person that actually still gives a damn about me!”

Like the way you talk about it makes it seem like you're saying lack of empathy is a choice when its not at all if I could I would be the ultimate empath (no I wouldnt) but it doesnt work that way

And as an empath it kinda sucks. Having this need to be there for literally everyone for anything even when they have hurt you so bad you can look at an email or get touched anymore is so terrible. I love helping people which is why I do it, but I can’t even say no without feeling bad.

You can’t control what you feel, and it’s like trying to tell an AroAce person to just “have romantic feelings for someone” when they literally can’t. And if you were an ultimate empath you would be constantly be contradicting yourself. You know how bad the world is and yet you’re so willing to help anyone just because you want to
