yeah, they added the timeout around 2019, likely as a result of DNS workarounds to accessing it. It also used to support video for the first few Switch OS releases.

has anyone tried ethernet? also i found that airplane mode expanded my time. is this statically correct?

I dont see how that would effect anything, its a built in timer. i know that putting the switch into rest can essentially pause the timer but ill have to try airplane mode

i cant watch videos it says that feature is resricted. any help?

@jperez2250 Nintendo has restricted the viewing of videos on the dns browser, i'd assume to discourage people from using it. There's also a 20 minute timer that'll kick you off every time it gets to 0. If you'd like to know some sites that work, check my first topic and another topic titled 'switch discoveries part 2'. @jperez2250 You can watch any videos on facebok using a trick i found, you need to acess facebook from the "social network posting settings" on your switch

@jperez2250 big dawg think we customer support if you want to see videos go though facebook or settle for GIF's, otherwise there hasnt been any workarounds for years

Sadly as others pointed out, the DNS browser explicitly has video playback blocked. There are some workarounds for Facebook and Google Drive, but the access is really limited.

@THE_ONlY_0NE theres is one way, but it only makes it possible to watch vids on facebook and the method takes quite a few steps, im not sure if its worth it but u could try it out for yourself, there was a topic about that, its called "switch discoveries volume 3" by @Luna

I think I stoped the timer on my switch. Don't know how all I know is that I was on nitendo news then whent on the web thing for a bit shut of my switch and whent back to where the timer was and it said 0:00 and it still has not kicked me off.

@VGMoose I keep managing to bypass it, but it is random, so what happens is that I keep turning it off and then when I reopen it, it stays on for ages and I cant really predict when it is going to happen tho

In my experience, sleeping your console will pause the timer. But the total screen-on time should still be 20 minutes.

The countdown timers on SB and BDNS will keep ticking and become unsynced with the real one when this happens, but after 20 min it still closes.
