ive been thinking of solutions to solve this issue. as part of my Tools4All project, ive been planning and prototyping a site which would allow a user of any device to essentially "borrow" a virtual computer as if they were really sitting in front of a pc. they can download files, browse the web (including gmail, discord, etc), watch videos, and more. this is taking a lot of work but i have a bit of progress on it so far and a lotta hope. wont be ready any time soon though x.x

@Yanderemenhera contact with mainstream email providers would absolutely be allowed :D only problem would potentially be your emails landing in the spam folder - but i have a couple ideas to fix that

@ladiesman217 with the mail provider, i can make it lag-friendly, but unfortunately i dont have access to any browsedns infrastructure to do anything there

given the lack of options for switch capable email providers, i have been working on making my own for the community to use. these are the features i already added and plan to add soon.

• lightweight with minimal resources needed, no more "Reload the page" prompts or ads slowing things down.
• minimum 1gb storage for every user (more storage if requested)
• modern but simple user interface
• for added security, a paid bug bounty program will be implemented (up to $500), as well as transparency on our security measures.
• emails dont land in spam folder (atm sending isnt set up yet, but receiving is working)

(for the most part, everything is already developed already and nearly production ready)

eventually i intend on also developing other switch-centered tools so the entire community has access to resources regardless of technical capability.

if you have any suggestions for this email provider, please let me know!!! i want this to be a community-driven project and i want to make sure everyone's needs and wants are met.

@VGMoose ya ive been reading a lot about it. i agree i think itd be much easier to make like a lightweight webmail client that uses a third party's smtp servers. i got a new vps and have been testing around different things and lyk if i get something going

not sure of any client that can handle the exact needs of the switch. from the list of email providers i made a while back as part of resource center, eclipsomail was filled with ads and kinda slow. gmail mobile wasnt reliable for all users. honestly i might just make my own for the community. ideally have it lightweight and capable of supporting the switch, with user options to select different smtp pproviders to login to existing accounts (on gmail, outlook etc) or a way to create an email somehow. not sure on the email creation part, i dont wanna host an smtp server myself and ill need some time to figure smth out

anywae yea so far, no good suggestions unless i make the custom webmail
