i've seen a video calling out natsuki for things she said during the argument she had with Yuri in act 2, they were a yuri-lover and were incapable of acknowledging things that yuri's said or Monika tampering with their files.

you remember what Yuri said about natsuki when she called her a brat? yeah, yuri's said debatablely worse and done debatablely worse during act 2 but once again, none of the girl's were themselves in that moment (ONCE AGAIN, MONIKA WAS MESSING WITH THEIR FILES AND THIS IS A HORROR GAME, DISTURBING THINGS BEING SAID SHOULD BE ACCEPTED AND UNDERSTOOD) and they were being shitty to each other as an ongoing conflict within the game.

and this is something i've seen with younger people in DDLC fandom spaces a lot, the kids will try to demonize the other girl's and try to make their girl out to be a victim that's never said or done any wrong and i've seen things get parasocial too and it kinda feeds into another issue I've seen with younger gen Z and then with gen alpha, the inability to suspend the desire to call out bad things in media for like 5 minutes. (like villains, or characters getting into arguments)

like, yes, little Timmy good job for pointing out in this snow white cartoon it was bad of the evil queen to poison snow white, but you don't need stop watching it to make a YouTube shorts slime rant full of stolen content telling the word that the evil queen is a bad person or that the creators shouldn't have depicted that because poisoning people is bad and being mean to little girls is bad.

or if two characters argue or treat each other poorly in a piece of media, and you like one over the other so you'll ignore the faults of the character you like and demonize the other one and miss the entire point of the piece of media.

now i'd say it because these kids are fairly young, on the internet everyone's extremely assurtive of their own beliefs leading to cognitive inflexabilty, and since they aren't even mentally mature enough to understand the more mature topics in a piece of media, they will tend to aggressively spew "hot takes" and say that their fictional girlfriend is always the victim, they can do absolutely no wrong whatsoever, and it's always someone else's fault, not their girl's fault at all ever, and get aggressive when someone points something they don't agree with out.

or some kid might attack the creator of a piece of media for it having serious or mature themes or assuming that the story's antagonist's actions and world view is that of the creator.

I feel like this is a maturity thing (these kids are likely 10-14), or they stopped teaching like, basic media language art's or like, english in general tbh, it's not even about "media literacy" because I feel like that term is overused and tends to come off as "i'm such a bigbrained snob, you pathetic idiots are inccapable of ever matching my intalect"

it's that I feel like kids have lost the plot on fiction as a whole and are just not able to acknowledge things anymore that I assumed were common subjects to be taught in public school and I will admit i'm annoyed by it but I feel bad for them because I doubt they'll ever be able to handle anything with conflict, or mature themes but only like Instagram reels and other substanceless forms of entertainment with zero plot.

so like eating litteral slop like plain grits when you could be eating anything else but the flavor is "too much" for them so they stick to plain bland mush.

(should be common sense but no, I don't dislike ddlc or the girls, nor is this targeted tords ddlc fans here like @Nared , this is an issue mostly on YouTube and in small discord servers.)
