@NeverLetMeDown they always break in my pencil sharpener and if you fυck up, you can't erase it or use white out the way you might with a pen and it's there forever, and it's extremely hard to get detail in the drawing with how big crayon tips are.

I will admit though i'd rather use 50 cent crayons over oil pastels though.

Oil pastels are definitely better to work with, although apparently if you get a hair dryer and blow it onto the drawing it melts the wax a bit and then you can blend properly.

To say you hate using them, it still looks pretty good. You should try experiment with more stuff!

@NeverLetMeDown tineballen is usually drawn by her artist (jo_spiu) in pastels, and I drew her in pastels. her skin is quite literally pink, and I used purple instead of black or grey

@Aries oil pastels are good for blending but not much else, I usually prioritize detail above all else so i'm not a fan of oil pastels for that reason. crayons are slightly better with detail, but it's not great.

one of tineballen's official designs, her design varies in things like stitch amounts, and what she's wearing but she's basically a frankenstine who is reanimated by her girl friend regularly because she dies a lot.

since she has short hair, people regularly call her a boy, she is a girl. she just has short hair and a more assurtive demenar. she is likely intended to be a butch lesbian, but i'm not entirely sure what the intention was since the person who made her is Korean and I don't speak/read korean (she does have a lot of translated works though) and tbf, idk if a butch lesbian is a concept in Korea

i use like a lotta stuff (acrylic/alcohol markers, coloured pencils) but very rarely crayons

@sweetpuddin I mostly use cheap color pencils (like crayola, crayola actually has some nice skin colored pencils and i've never seen any other higher-end brands like Prismacolor have designated skin tones on a wide variety of colors ) and felt tip pens for inking, I hate ballpoint and fountain tip pens are messy as hell so I rarely draw with those

@Yanderemenhera i swear i replied to this, but anygays, I would actually love colouring with crayons. The hate is so forced, it all just depends on the versatility of your own skills and art style. I would colour with crayons more often, but its really rare in general when i colour my sketches anyways. I lava the messy look it sorta gives off

@w1ckedsticky1983 if I could make some reccomendations if you ever do decide to, i'd say to go with crayola crayons above other brands since they are usually well-pigmented, in terms of price, it's not hard to find a multipack with basic colors for 50 cents if they're on sale, if not, a small box is usually $1.25 USD in stores like Walmart.
use a large part of a pencil sharpener to sharpen them, not the small part. (most pencil sharpeners i've seen come with two holes, one big, one small) and be very careful not to over-sharpen or use too much pressure because it WILL break.
and only other thing I can think to stress is go for a simple design or a close-up of a face, crayons blend very well and create nice gradients but detail isn't their thing.
