@prof_girlkisser I believe it can, however how you appreciate the art is different. When you look at artwork someone made they took time and care hours on it maybe days which helps you appreciate it more. However, with AI art it's made within seconds maybe a few minutes depending on your prompt or the detail/version of the AI you're using. The appreciation is totally different when you see AI art it's more of a That looks really cool or what engine did you use to make that it looks really great. So on and so on so I do believe it can make good art. You just gotta learn how to look at it. However, BCV has a good point the AI art section is very concise and specific. AI Images gives a more broad idea of the subject. Which I think would work well.

@prof_girlkisser Art is many things not just a painting the way you're thinking you're objectifying it to one simple practice as I said before how you enjoy the arts is different art made by hand sculpture painting and what not is something you can respect the commitment from however when you look at (SOME) AI art you know there was no time commitment put into it but you can still recognize that someone had to take time to put in a prompt and some does look cool which most people can respect (If the prompt was good) which people may ask oh what's your type or engine etc it's all based on how you enjoy it and how you think some people prefer AI art over regular some people prefer art made by hand and as I said when it doesn't do it properly and the photo isn't actually good then yes you can't enjoy that just as if someone paints a bad painting you won't enjoy that just as much they go hand in hand it's all based on point of view for enjoyment level. Some people which I'm guessing your apart off just don't like it in general which is just as fine as well it's all opinion. :3

@bunnykek I disagree but agree it doesn't steal from artists unless you tell it to and if it does then it's nothing original there's nothing to enjoy art in general AI and drawn is just lost its normality and knowingness. AI art gets just as much shadow as real art probably more which I 100% understand personally real art is better but I can enjoy AI art from time to time depending what engine was used and how good and original it actually is. It's all on point of view and how people think that doesn't make your opinion invalid nor am I trying to make you think it is

It's not about enjoying it, it's about the fact it's someone REAL who made it, AI should not be used when making any art because it can't, it can't make it by itself, it needs a prompt, someone human to guide it, only humans or something with a brain can make true art. No computer can do what our own hands can. But like you said, it's all opinion based, until it's destroying actual art.

"Art" is such an abstract term that I think it's very easy to see how automated or computer-generated "art" is still a form of art. It's not too different than other forms of algorithmically generated art in the last 2 decades. Eg. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algorithmic_art
That being said, if you're talking about the "AI Art" chat channel on this site, I can also understand the argument to rename it. The entire point of that channel being separate is to make sure that AI generated images don't clutter the main "Artist" channel, after all.
