Basically, I was helping my mom cook dinner. She had me open some cans of vegetables and beans. She told me to go ahead and drain them all (we had carrots, green beans, and black-eyed peas), so that's what I did. When I was draining my last can, the peas, she suddenly told I was not supposed to drain them (I didn't know and I assumed those were included in "drain them all"). She got really mad. Then my dad got even madder. He looked like a [censored] fire ant. Told me I ruined their entire evening.
All I did was try to defend myself in the most repectful way possible by just saying I didn't know and why I assumed (which was really hard because my Dad's already spitting mad in my face and shoving me around). He proceeded to tell me how dare I tell anyone what to do (I wasn't telling anyone what to do) and then said "You wanna buck up against me? You think you're big and bad and that shit? Do you really? C'mon then!"
And that's when he hit me in my chest. It legit knocked the breath out of me. I had a terrible night. I'm trying not to let it affect my mood and stay positive.

call the police.. thats not okay... especially the ribs- i can understand a slap on the face if you genuinely did somethin... you didnt do anything wrong and you have organs in your chest that could have been damaged... call the police- show them the bruise, tell them what happend.
