ok yall dont cancel me but since we're talkin bout trans folk
is it wrong that i view being trans as a mental disorder? /gen
i dont understand why like viewing it as one is negative and i think itd make ppl less transphobic
like any other mental disorder you dont choose to be born that way, most ppl wouldnt bully a autistic person for being autistic because theyre born that way and ppl dont chose to have a mental illness
and feeling like your something your not is definitely not orderly so i feel like its objectively a illness
amd thats ok
like i still respect my trans friends pronouns and use them
i dont get why saying its a mental disorder is bad because mental disorders exist and i feel like as a society we know better and are more excepting of them
bc if being trans is a disorder then what is it? i feel like this confuses ppl and leads to MORE transphobia
so is there something im misunderstanding? bc im very confident that it IS a mental disorder but have been kinda scared to ask ppl (ignore my typos)
also ive NEVER met a trans person who doesn't have another mental disorder (usually adhd or autism)
unrelated but this is why i dont like that trans and nonbinary ppl are a part of the lgb, bc now its not about sexuality anymore and is including a mental illness? it feels like it isnt for us anymore if that makes sense, i wish they had theyre own group instead bc its weird to associate being non heterosexual with a mental disorder
also im not transphobic for feeling this way, if someone is chill theyre chill but i do still see it as a disorder and i dont get how it could be seen as anything else:/
