as wolfie said, pollenation, they also serve as food sources vor hundreds of species. not to mention ofc there are diff types of mosquitos that develop over time in different regions
2 things to remember: they exisg for a reason and they survived for a reason
i think a lot of people struggle with the shortsightedness of "it annoys me so its bad, and the facts that insects dont inherently want to harm you. theyre just biomechanical processes trying to survive. aware? maybe. sentient? debatable no (ofc this doesnt apply to animals, crabs especially are veryy smart) -

WHY DO MOSQUITOS EVEN EXIST
they literally serve no purpose, they dont help ecosystems, environment, etc etc.. all they do is cause chaos 
cause tbh i dont think theyre doing it for survival anymore.... THEYRE PROBABLY TRYING TO RAGEBAIT ME ATP everytime i walk outside for TWO minutes, i come back with 726227227million mosquito bites.... like is my blood limited edition or smth
