Vamp Fic Question

Firstly, so, last night my internet went out so I wasn't able to get any writing done. Secondly, I have absolutely no idea where I want my first fic to go, and I have just written an entire timeline (almost) for my vamp fic, so I'm just thinking of starting the vamp fic anyway.

I just wanted to ask a core question to the current audience.

So, for MC to be terrified to become a vampire-leaning dhampir in the first place, I think it would make more sense for him to have had bad experiences with real vampires, which originally wouldn't happen if the only vampire he ever met was his dad, who is very nice.

MC's dad escaped an arranged marriage and his vampiric tribe to be with MC's mother, since human/vampire relationships are banned by vampiric law, and punishable by death. He's still in hiding.

This is what I want to ask abt. My plan:

So, from the arranged marriage, MC's dad already had a son. This would make that son MC's half brother, who is a pureblood (full vampire). This brother frankly doesn't care about the whole iffy situation with his and MC's dad, and would rather just use him (he's evil). He found his and MC's dad before MC was born (he's about 6-12 years older than MC depending on what I wanna do), and he made a deal with him. He would not expose his whereabouts to the tribe if, and only if his dad would allow him to use a room in his house (this room would make it,very easy for to hunt prey and then store it in the room in a cooler, so he could keep all of the blood to himself). He's evil. Did I mention that already? very evil.

This brother legit trauatizes MC. He taunts him constantly about becoming a "monster" and how it'll eventually happen whether MC likes it or not. He even shows him corpses and blood among other things that MC already has to deal with, like the smell of death in his brother's breath, which his brother is well aware of and uses against him.

So, this can be why MC is so afraid of becoming a vampire-leaning dhampir.

Or not.

I want to know if I should implement this idea or not, which is what my question is. Yes, or no?

The brother would be my own original character (which is funny because I usually don't like reading fics that have original characters), since MC doesn't canonically have one (as far as I know). I'm not typically good at original characters, which is my dilemma, but if you guys think this is a good idea, we can discuss things like a name or physical traits and stuff in the replies lol.
