@Yanderemenhera that's actually what I was going for with my magical boy story, a guy who's still a guy but is into feminine stuff and bc of his role as a magical girl (but rlly he's a magical guy TvT) he ends up exploring it more
Rosado is another character ppl got mad Abt him not being trans, I feel like it's messed up bc not all crossdressers are trans TvT and men can like feminine stuff too and still identify as men, I actually think it's messed up to consider any person that doesn't conform to societal gender expectations as trans bc then they arent rlly not-conforming anymore? Like if rosado was trans hed no longer be special as a man who likes cute stuff/crossdresses, now hes just a girl who likes cute stuff and wears skirts, which is normal??? TvT
Velvet from the new Ribbon hero anime is another example of a feminine presenting male (who cross dresses) and still identifies as a man (he's rlly tea and the movies art direction is beautiful y'all should check it out)

his gf i see as 17 which she actually is in the anime and shes 16 in the start of the manga
so no i dont personally see this as a CRAZY age gap bc they are in the same age range, the whol 'hes a 600 year old man-' is just dumb bc hes not a old man like he has the mind and body of a teen bruh
anyways the 'its fiction' is not a justification ESPECIALLY for shoujo which is targeted at teen girls because this means its normalizing behaviors/relationships that could be dangerous irl and lead to grooming
this is why i HATE sesrin with a passion bc its essentially a guy dating a girl he took care of when she was 8 as soon as she turns 18
anyways i hope this comes off as common sense but i see NO ONE ever explain it this way
also i dont think time period is a valid excuse either depending on how its handled, i write alot of historical fantasy so i get wanting to be historically accurate but if its handled in a way that glorifies these relationships instead of handling it with meaningful intention then it just feels like a excuse to write abt ones weird fantasies
also a lil unrelated but i feel like publicly shipping kids with adults to 'cope' is creepy, if your gonna do i keep it to yourself because fiction effects reality and its important not to normalize this stuff in media
@Yanderemenhera i thought it was girl love but idk if the movie cut it or what, it has undertones but in the movie nothing actually happens between them, the manga probably explores it more:p
i think the two women definitely love eachother but bc of the time period they never dare consider it romantic, but the princess does say that if Oscar was a man shed be in love with her
they could be straight but i just interpret it as them not rlly getting the concept of marrying another women so they never they never fully understand/embrace their feelings
(also its historical fiction and the princess was a real women so making her explicitly gay could be seen as disrespectful because theres nothing that supports that she was)
i dont mind it not being girl love bc i love theyre relationships with the other characters and i think their cannon ships are more meaningful
ive kinda heard of it and assumed it was rlly gay but i watched the movie on netflix and it was so beautiful, the art direction is stunning, it was so passionate and felt more womanist then necessarily queer (tho it definitely has queer undertones and only ruined the immersion for me)
(my only complaint was making it a musical, i love musicals but the songs were all just generic pop and unwatchable so i skipped them. the original story wasnt meant to be a musical so it was kinda a random choice. theres only like 6 songs tho so its not that bad)
the story is about a women named oscar who was raised to fit the roles of a son and is assigned to protect the french princess, the story is a historical fiction with lots of romantic elements. It takes place during the french revolution
the movie was so good but was only a summary of the 2000 page manga series and now im DETERMINED to find the manga, i saw volume one months ago but the store doesnt have it anymore:(
anyways its a great story and im excited to read the manga which has much more content and depth and id def recommend it to shoujo gir

I'm so excited for the new Ghost in the shell anime! I was never really a fan of the series but I love the new style (that actually is more accurate to the original manga style) bc it's so cute and retro, which are like my two fav aesthetics lol y'all can watch it if u have Prime I think, I love that older anime have been making a comeback (like ranma 1/2!) on top of that my fav YouTuber TonyWeaverJr is gonna be voice acting Saito and im sooo happy for him!
Oki so I'm rlly interested in the Ribbon Hero anime move coming out on Netflix, its giving fantasy magical girl and I rlly hope it makes the magical girl genre more popular, the animation and style look BEAUTIFUL
Unfortunately alot of Japanese people are mad Abt the voice acting, I think the dub is fine and just generic anime dub but ig Japanese speakers aren't happy abt the sub voice actors. On top of that Japanese ppl are also upset bc the movie doesn't look like the original princess knight manga which is what INSPIRED this movie and the hate is so crazy, i feel like its ridiculous because this movie isnt supposed to be a adaptation it is its own thing, it just so happens to be inspired by Princess Knight. I rlly hope the movie doesn't fail bc ppl are mad abt it not being like princess knight since it isnt supposed to be and ppl bashing it for this silly reason is rlly upsetting
Also the transformation scene in the ad was SO sailor moon and I'm here for it

I REALLY want inuyasha to get the ranma 1/2 treatment, ranmas remake is so good and Inuyasha would be so popular if it was reintroduced, I'll be so sad if Yashahime is the only inuyasha content we ever get again (especially since the animation and style was buns and they made sessomaru have kids with his daughter:(
Also the Inuyasha anime had too much filler and the anime ruined the romance aspects in the manga and totally cut some of the cutest romantic scenes! A Inuyasha remake that's true to the manga would be sooo good TvT
I also need more sailor moon stuff, it got a new theater production that's pretty successful rn but sailor moons crystals art style is SO bad I can't even watch it and i feel like it doesnt even count as new sailor moon content bc of how disgusting it looks. Id love if sailor Vs manga got a limited series or smth with a better art style, especially since sailor Vs manga came first and alot of ppl dont even know abt it!
