Me personally, I’d have to go with Inuyasha (thank you for introducing me, Izzy 😚)Currently, even if the way Kagome and Inuyasha’s relationship was adapted makes me cringe a tiny bit even if it is really cute, I still think it’s a fun story, and I really like the art style. I also think Shippo and his relationship with Inuyasha are really cute, as well as Sesshomaru’s fatherly relationship with Rin.

Other than that, my other favorites are Evangelion for its representation of fatherly neglect, the pressure of living up to a parent’s expectations, and its deep psychological tones of hopelessness, depression, isolation, and inner emotional conflict—the action is pretty cool as well. Cowboy Bebop stands out for the way it choreographs fights and for Spike Spiegel’s laid-back, silly attitude within a poor sci-fi dystopia, and Azumanga Daioh because it’s just a silly, relaxed anime with very enjoyable characters and dynamics. I really like how the whole group of girls is the focus rather than just one, and it also has good representation, with Kaorin being a lesbian and Tomo being canonically bi; Kagura and Tomo’s rivalry is also really funny.
