@Aries I was diagnosed with dyslexia when I was 9, I could be wrong, but I don't think that's why people send me DMs with zero correctly spelled words.... I think dyslexia makes reading things more difficult depending on how it's written. like some fonts are easier to read than others. I have a hard time reading cursive for example (I can, but it's difficult) or like, "l1k3 th1$" typing qiruk thingy, but reading the BNS font is easy, I think for dyslexics the issue isn't that they can't read, it's an issue of font and word size. though i'm not an expert and I could've been misdaignosed or whatever, idrk.

what happened to literacy? (*a rant post with suggestions on how to help ig*)I talked about this breefly in an annoucment post for staff applications, but a lot of people online (not even just on here) don't know how to do things like spell simple words, form a sentence let ALONE a paragraph, or what letter sound like (like, how to sound out letters. i.e. g makes a ''guh'' sound). my issue isn't with occasional typos, auto-correct changing words in a sentence, improper caps in informal posts or no periods at the end of a sentence, or shorthand like gtg, fml, pmo, idk and so on and so forth. I use shorthand, I don't punctuate my sentences all the time, and I don't normally use proper caps unless i'm doing a formal/professional post and i'm human, I make typos like spelling errors and my auto-correct doesn't usually work, but when it does, it always messes up what I wrote by changing my words after i've written them as it is likely AI that doesn't understand context. but what upsets me is when I get DMs of people who need my help and I cannot read it. I get DMs like "yu r hut ei wnna dade yu" or " u dum as uld eve his abb nw an u r een nd mi hete u" and it takes me a long time to decifer the meaning of them. some people who send me messages are legal adults too (as in, 18+) and sure, they could be little kids lying about their age, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were in fact, young adults. and you know what? i do not give a flying [censored] about wether or not public school failed them, and sure I do pitty them, but I was what would be considored ''unschooled". I taught myself to read. I taught myself everything. I had no teacher. if you are a grown adult you need to just teach yourself. put in the effort and learn. if a 7 year old me figured it out, a grown adult with even just a switch and an internet connection can. there's lots and lots of online resources to choose from. hell, even just YouTube access can help. if you can't read or spell, even if you're an adult there's no excuse, you need to learn how to read and write, chat gpt can write your loved one's text messages you can send, and you can have it read the response to you, but is it really the same? it's not. and i'll do some research later to post a post with lots of links to resources to help people learn how to read and write. remember, it's never too late to learn and there will come a day when you'll need to read and write.

bro.. ts worse than Ohio 🥀@topratedsalesman imagine trespassing on a family's property after 5:30am (I went to bed that night around 5:30am and I didn't notice anything while I was up so it had to have been after 5:30am) just to eat yogurt, not finish it, leave the yogurt on the ground to fester with bugs and just leave like nothing happened
-
bro.. ts worse than Ohio 🥀so I live extremely rural, so my "neghbours'' aren't like, living with us in an appartment or anything of the like. one of the people who live close by has a small pig farm for example so i'm literally in the middle of nowhere. I live on a small peice of land, so I have a super big backyard and decent sized front yard.
yesterday, we found a half eaten thing of yogurt in our yard, someone trespassed in the wee hours of the morning to eat yogurt in our yard, we had no yogurt in our house or anything like that, it wasn't my family's doing. someone dead [censored] trespassed to eat yogurt on our lawn and didn't even finish it. another time a few months ago, someone left four books in our driveway we'd never seen b4. a Christian book, two cook books, and a Christmas decor decorating tutorial book. people who live close by aren't usually sober, lets just leave it at that, so i'm greatful they just are doing random [censored] mischivious shit at 3:00am instead of like, something like breaking in our house :wilted_flower: -

BrowseDNS Staff Interviewsif you'd like to work on spelling simple words or want help with something in particular, spellingtraining.com is a free website that could help you learn how, though I doubt it'll work on switch. you can set up what words you need help with and the UI is extremely easy to use. you can play a fun game to help you learn as well.
-
BrowseDNS Staff Interviewsi'm not talking about occasional typos, or misspellings of big words or by auto correct, or using shorthand like (idk, bc, ofc, lol, af, ect.) or not using proper caps in a sentence if you're on switch or something if you aren't trying to write something formal if you are one of the people who will DM me messages like "yu r su hwt chan e dite" or "hwilp e bhawn sowmoni plase" you aren't ready for this and you need to work on it @Everyone
-
BrowseDNS Staff Interviews@Everyone Pro tip, don't apply if you can't spell or don't know how to form a paragraph. Learn how to do so first. THEN apply.
