Any recs on how to stop / heal lip bittng

I have a really bad habit of biting my lips and it's getting genuinely bad my lips are in bad shape I genuinely need a better way to not like cause my lips to bleed

You could try using petroleum jelly or chapstick to try and heal your lips, and if you continue to feel an urge to bite your lips you could try putting like an unsavory liquid around your lips so that you eventually associate lip biting with the unsavory liquid. I'm not a professional in stuff like this, though these tips have helped me and my younger brother before.

@ZedPhoenix I'll try like getting some petroleum jelly or Vaseline genuinely I think alot of stress is getting to me so hopefully things get less stressful so but I'll see if I can like train myself to associate lipbiting is bad with your tip

try doing that thing where you put glue on your hand and peel it!! or put a rubber band on your wrist and if you catch yourself picking your lip and snap it hard (it worked for me!! it may not work for you but its definitely a solution that could work!!

@Sup3rSwaggyy1983 it helped me stop tho, plus i control myself, i only bite the white parts... until i inevitably move out and can buy nail polish without being looked at weird by my family... wait thats a solution on its own, someone write that down

@saphirecrown1 oh welp, my problem was honestly extremely bad..that's an understatement, but uhh.. I used to bite my nail polish too, and even past the white part. I lowk used to bleed, and it didn't help that I chewed my skin/part of my cuticles off

@Sup3rSwaggyy1983 Yeah I still have this problem I'm a nail bitwe too though I try not to bite my nails to the point I'll bleed but sometimes I'm just biting and it happens

@SodaAddict yeah, like- it just feels weird if you stop biting them at a weird and arbitrary place, rather than just biting as far as you can

wear one of those mouthguards they use at the dentist that like holds ur mouth open until they heal !!

ok ive been self concious (wooooow great spelling) about biting my finger nails now that ive talked about it dear god why is everything about me suddenly weird my left eye closes slightly more than my right eye wtf is going on

okay I see the solution is to fix the bad habit by creating a new bad habit to replace your old bad habit you can't bad habit if new bad habit has fixated onto the old bad habit
