how to get people to listen to you
-
here are some things from my experience that help people listen to your point, i hope this helps!
- avoid being an ass. what mean by this is, lets say you are telling someone the world isn't flat right? they disagree, but they are being cordial and aren't insulting you. you might think they are a dumbass but saying they are an idiot or using drogitory terms and swears at the person is just gonna make them NOT want to listen your point at all.
instead, try to explain your point clearer or agree to disagree.
- if you're talk about an issue, explain how it affects them. just saying that distroying a forest is bad, try to explain how it would affects them, like sayingthat if there's no trees there'd be no birds and they are an avid bird-lover.
- always be ready to back up what you are saying, especially if it is something serious. just saying ''trust me bro'' isn't very trustworthy. like, if i were to say someone did something terrible, you would like me to show evidence, like lets say i sent you a link backing up the broken promises elon musk has.
- try to use clear language and not something too technical. like, switching out infantalizatoin and use babing instead if they dont understand a word.

Number 2 isn't always effective, that's very situation dependent

valid, but there's always going to be circumstances where it's gonna be a lot different.

@NightmareWolfie yeah, thats fair. i personally use it to catch peoples attention bc not everyone cares about AI for example, they might think it only affects artist and they don't know anything else about it, and then i bring up the fact that it drives up the price of ram, or send them a link to a yt video about how it makes things more expensive (like housing) if they wanna learn more about it

@ilovecats2018 always tryna start something for literally no reason

these rules should be common sense, especially the first one but so many people (even on here) cant hold their tongue like if someone isn’t directly disrespecting you even if theyre annoying you shouldn’t disrespect them, i see ts all the time and it actually pisses me off TvT
