i'm not plus sized, but i buy clothing made for them because i wear oversized clothing, i'm usually a mens small or a womans medium or small (sometimes an extra small in womans, depends on brand)
i've seen someone complaining that all of the ''skinny'' people are stealing clothing from plus sized people. what do you think? if i choose to buy a mens 3xl tee to wear as a night gown :am i stealing a mass prodoced tee from bigger people? i don't think its a big deal tbh, there's a lot more clothing where that came from and i dont think bigger people legitimately are roaming nude bc i stole the 3xl teeshirt but hey, i could be wrong. correct me if i am

ok idk abt where yall live but theres this store i like and all the cute clothes is plus size and it actually pmo sm so personally i dont feel bad plus its all mass produced clothes like be so deadass this is not a real issue

now, im like 200lbs but my issue with clothing (specificly womans) is that while you can find plus size, tall sizes just dont exist. i be bilt like a bloated hourglass so my waist size changes daily but its usually 35inchs about so even if i just buy plus size clothing it thinking more fabric covering my body it just does not work like that. i just need to sew more clothing, but if i'm like cossplaying a character like miku or need a skirt for any reason its unwearable. i typically wear those safety shorts from the female child's asile in walmart but even then it might as well be a belt bc its too short on me. so i just wear like oversized mens work pants everyday. i don't normally wear womans tops unless i want an undershirt as they tend to be shorter on me because of my hight :/ and you are basically just cooked if you wanna wear panty hose (basicly thin tights) i need to buy a size that has like a shit load of x's on it because what should fit doesn't go up my leg all the way then the like 2x panty hose is weirdly baggy and just does not stay on.

@Yanderemenhera I get why people feel protective over plus-size clothing, especially since for a long time there weren’t many options. But buying an oversized shirt for comfort or style isn’t “stealing” from anyone. These are mass-produced clothes made by big companies, not a limited resource. Me buying a 3XL shirt to sleep in doesn’t mean someone else can’t get dressed. The real issue isn’t individuals shopping outside their “size category,” it’s brands not making enough inclusive sizing in the first place. That’s on companies, not on people who like oversized clothes. We can support size inclusion without turning it into a blame thing.

i have also heared people complain plus sized clothing is ugly, not to play devils advocate but from what i have seen, nowadays plus sized or not clothing looks ugly. like, not a basic tee shirt but like hotopic for example, they do definitely have plus sized clothing but its the same as the other clothing and from what i have seen, 40% of the clothing in there store is plus sized (i havent been in a year, this might be different now)but regardless if you're a medium or a 3xl its all super fucking cheep looking. and torid exists too now so i think you definitely can easily find decent looking clothing now but i do get this didnt used to be the case like 25 years ago. but as somebody with a small business, while yes, people who are larger than a 5xl do exist, i probably wont make something that big unless i get a specific request to. something that big uses a lot more reasorces than a large does so i do get why there's not really any size 7xl clothing and why small business might only do a smaller range of sizes, but i do think plus sized people definitely have clothing

i make furry tails, i personally put ajustable belts of many different sizes because i don't know who's buying it and what size they'd be, but that's just how i try to deal with this
