If it's a black widow, I would recommend calm and slow movements if you were to ever try to kill it. The spider is just as scared as you are, being in the presence of a living organism that is quite literally a giant compared to it. Spiders generally don't bite for no reason at all, so long as they don't feel threatened, scared, or angry.
