Opinion on ASMR?

it makes me insanely uncomfortable. my little brother listens to it to go to sleep and i can hear it from my room. even he knows im disgusted by it.

I don't listen to asmr personally, but I don't mind the non-talking ones (raindrops, grass, nature sounds, etc.). The ones where people talk creep me out though. Who thought someone whispering into your ear for 2 hours straight wouldn't be creepy?

It's very dependent on the listener. While I don't personally listen to it, (and frankly not a fan of it,) most people do because it can make them feel relaxed and comforted, proven by a few studies (in which i forgot where from.) Not everyone has ASMR tingles though, so that's why most of the people in these replies don't like it.

@Rusty I actually don't have tingles. It's more of a white noise thing for me. I can't sleep for some reason when it's dead quiet. The sounds just have a calming effect, like you said. Sometimes I don't even sleep and just listen to the interesting sounds you come across. It's peaceful.
