We do have an apps in the works! Actually push notifications is the difficult part, but we should be able to get there eventually. It's important to make the site easier to use for mobile users.
On the users that have left though, I generally agree with Raven's take that it's natural / their decision to make. People will come and go over time. Obviously, we don't want to make this feel like an isolating place either.

im on another site which allows downvotes and people over there seem to manage pretty well (as in you rarely see spam downvotes etc)@ladiesman217 i feel like downvotes might mean less actual engagement, bc instead of replying ppl can just push a button, which makes things boring for everyone and will probably only lead to less engagement. just my opinion tho:P
