Are you Aphantasiac or Hyperphantasiac?

For those who don't know, aphantasiac and hyperphantasiac are the opposite ends of the same spectrum. The spectrum is how well you can picture things in your head. Aphantasia is where one cannot picture or visualize anything in their head, while Hyperphantasia is where one can very vividly picture and visualize things in their head.

I am mostly aphantasiac. People like me, based on testing, are the minority. What are you?

I would describe my way of thinking as a computer that you can put information into, but it is disconnected from the screen. I can go back and pull that information up in my head at anytime. It's just there (unless I forget ofc, which I'm prone to bcs nothing really makes a lasting impact on me unless it's smth emotionally traumatizing or frustrating). I have an internal monologue and have sound-based thoughts. I can kind of visualize things very poorly, but it's very mentally taxing, so there's no point in me doing it.

@Luana.vasper I have dreams and can hallucinate but I can't "see" anything without being in an altered mental state so to speak. I only hear my voice. there's nothing else. every second feels like a new reality, my memories are fuzzy, kinda like if someone told you something vs you actually living it out. something from 5 minutes ago, 5 months ago and 10 years ago feels like the same thing, I lack an actual sense of time as well basically. it's not a black void in my head, it's like trying to see out of your elbow, aka, there's literally nothing.

it's been like this my entire life though I think my sense of time and memory did worsen after some blows to the head (those blows wern't recent btw, i'm good)

@Yanderemenhera I relate to this a lot. My dreams look like the scenes in the flash movies where he uses his power. It's not fast, it just looks like that. All the objects are smeared have the texture of... mashed potatoes or refried beans? A mess of identifiable blobs of color. t's strange because if you showed me my dreams on TV screen or something, I would have absolutely no idea what was happening, but when I'm dreaming, I know exactly what's happening. I guess it's because it's my brain that's coming up with it in the first place, so of course it would be identifiable.
