Boys Are Being Conditioned to Accept SA—and “catching print” Proves Nobody Wants to Fix It

I’ve been thinking abt this for a minute and it’s actually weird how young boys are socialized to accept things they KNOW are regarded as SA but are still expected to laugh it off or take it as a “flex”

Like from early on it’s framed as “you’re lucky”r“you should want that” instead of what it actually is—your boundaries being crossed. So now you’ve got boys who are uncomfortable but feel like they’re not even allowed to say that, because admitting it ruins the image that they’re supposed to always want sexual attention.

And then trends like “catching print” literally just build on that.

It’s normalized to point it out, record it, laugh about it, and treat someone’s body like it’s public property—and if a guy is uncomfortable, it’s brushed off because “it’s not that serious.” That’s not just a trend, it’s a direct result of that same socialization.

And at the same time, it feeds into the exact system people claim to hate.

Because if the goal is to break down objectification, why are we recreating it in a different direction? I’m going to be straight and honest,being a sexual predator ahould NOT in any cases be seen as empowering or uplifting

Also not enough ppl talk abt how equating a small print (A print) to women’s cup sizes is weird in itself it literally just reinforces the same body standards that make women with smaller cup sizes feel insecure in the first place. Like we’re just recycling the same harmful scale and pretending it’s different when it’s obviously not,how do you claim to hate the beauty standards for women and uphold them to put down a man,it doesnt make sense

And honestly, this trend proves that a lot of ppl don’t actually want to dismantle the patriarchy—they just want to benefit from it when it works in their favor and have an excuse to be the perpetrator.

Because the bigger issue is the cycle it creates.

Boys get socialized to ignore their own boundaries → they grow up not respecting boundaries → that turns into objectification of women → women experience that and grow resentment → that resentment turns into wanting to harm or get back at men → which then reinforces men’s hostility towards women. (Idgaf abt anyone saying that I’m the problem or thag I’m victim blaming bc I’m saying It how it is,modern women are going to be the direct cause of future misogyny and abuse if they keep using their struggle as an excuse to perpetuate)
It just loops.

Nobody wins, and it just keeps feeding itself eternally

And then ppl wonder why everything feels so divided when we’re literally teaching each other to not take boundaries seriously from the start, young boys are taught to be sexual and told that it’s their nature and that leads them directly doen a path of expecting to get laid or feeling entitled to a women’s body,allowing those same boys to get assaulted and have their perception of intimacy skewers only worsens their beliefs

also i totally agree with the part abt how these problematic ideas havnt gone away, as society develops, i feel like theres alot of racist and sexist concepts that just get rebranded or stamped as 'empowering', which is even worse

dude its crazy how normalixed this stuff is. somebodyin my sewing class said that one of her teachers told her that "the boys will be excited" because she turned 16. proceeded to then, at the end of class tell the boys in the class to line up for a kiss from her on the way out. we NEED to do something about thhis behavior

there's a a boy in a manga called happy sugar life. this manga shows the cycle of abuse in multiple different contexts. the boy Tayo is abused by an attractive older woman. I hate the people who'd say he's lucky or whatever like they take stacey's mom by bowling for soup seriously. and guess what? he turns around and becomes a creep people only start getting upset then.

sexual harrasment is often treated as a quick joke, even in shows targeted towards teen girls (sailor moon has a bit of casual SA....)

I've actually seen women try to defend this behavior by claiming it's only natural for them to do it towards men because women have been sexualized for centuries. It stems from women's bodies being openly put on display for men to sexualize them unconsensually, but honestly, this is just really shitty justification. I suppose these beliefs derive from the 'reasoning' provided above, and the fact that it supposably empowers women due to getting their 'lick back at men,' but nothing should justify actions like these. No human being should be fetishized, objectified, nor even have their body blatantly sexualized without consent, especially for something they can't even control (Shocking!! I know!!/sar).

It's immensely strange to see that people are even attempting to justify this behavior. I mean, if you're someone who has experienced SA or has been sexualized, why would you ever wish that on someone innocent? Someone who you don't even know-? It doesn't even take a shitton of empathy or nuance to understand that this sort of behavior is wrong

The so called "feminist's" that deduce this predatory behavior to just being silly and claim that these behaviors are apparently inspiring, don't even deserve to call themselves feminists. The main point of feminism is to fight for the equality between the two sexes; male and female. It's strange to see that many people stereotype all men to be so-called perverts and automatically begin to start objectifying them, hence the infamous catching-print trend occurring. Hypocritical, isn't it? Not all men are creeps, nor or all women Innocent. Behavior's like this divide humanity and continue the cycle of abuse.

It's genuinely disgusting to see how whenever a man gets sexually assaulted, they're considered "lucky" and that they apparently should feel "grateful" for a women even laying a finger on them. I'm not a man, so I can't touch upon this subject as much as you can, but I've been sexually assaulted as a women myself. I've also have had friends that have told me about their experiences in the past, on how they were SAed by a women, but weren't taken seriously for these exact reasons. It's so normalized in this day and age for some godsick reason. It's truly sad to see that these conversations are even necessary in today's society, or considered 'hot-takes.' This is quite literally why men aren't ever taken earnestly.

Obviously, the only initiative that could be taken to at least prevent SA is to teach children boundaries. However, but since most children have access to social media at such a young age, they are going to see these videos and start to begin believing actions like these are okay. Which, is another discussion, but I don't feel like delving upon at the moment. It'd mostly just be a side tangent, but it does definitely contribute to this issue at a large-scale factor.

I'm not quite sure what else I can add without basically just restating any claims you have already made, but TDLR: catching print = bad

@Johnny.SS sadly it is something that could happen, but it's strange to see that people don't realize their actions actually have real affects on others although, I guess it really could just be dwindled down to "people are shitty."

Of course victims of SA can become offenders themselves in the later future, not all of them follow this path. Honestly, the most common case of what happens is the person becomes hypersexual, which doesn't necessarily automatically mean that they become a sex-offender in the future, but I digress.
