communism isn't inherently bad. The execution will always fail, but the idea itself solves tons of the worlds problems. as would removing currency systems and using actual trades, but i digress.

@Shockrat true, the only real major flaw in the system is the fact that it doesn't factor in corruption and some people being just absolutely evil for no reason tbh. If everyone somehow had common sense, were less selfish, worked hard to improve their own lives and the lives of the people around them, and had basic human empathy at all times then the execution would probably work out (capitalism in this better world would also just end up becoming a redundant waste of paper, since most people would just help eachother out anyway), but wayyyyyyy too many people don't have any of those traits so the execution just always fails.

(forum requires at least 7 days to be able to upvote a post lol, so everytime I kinda agree with something I have to actually make a post)

I personally agree with Karl Marx's idea of communism.

@Barbghibe yeah basically, although it's not just theoretically, i read that pretty much every irl large-scale application of communism has failed or is currently failing miserably (though that stat might include failures caused by outside intervention)

bc its unfair to the people who work harder then others and makes it way harder to own your own business and gives people less financial freedom

wait im confused what did i say that was wrong? isnt communism when the government pays everyone equally??? i dont get how thats capitalism, capitalism gives ppl control over the economy (and while big companies suck we the ppl have the choice to not give them our money and support small businesses thus WE control the economy)?????? did i misunderstand? how tf is that capitalism?

i think that communisim is dumb and unfair and more dangerous then capitalism, almost all communist governments are lowkey oppressive, and like i said equality isnt necessarily fair, ppl who work harder should get paid more and hav control over their own businesses and money

IMO americans who think communism is better then capitalism are silly and are ignorant to their privilege bc capitalism gives us a certain freedom ppl in communist countries dont have:p (it does suck for ppl who are poor tho but communism still isnt the answer)

(both OBVIOUSLY have their pros and cons but saying communisim is good feels rllllly ignorant, ESPECIALLY if your an American TvT)

i think welfare capitalism sounds cool bc the idea is that ppl get their basic needs but still have economic freedom i think:P so poor or
disabled or elderly ppl can still get what they need to survive
if it works well in practice i think its something America should try out

@_Izzy_ welfare is actually implemented due to left-wing policies, besides capitalism is actually not financial freedom since most brands are owned by the same 7 mega corporations, (ex. nestle, unicef, pepsico) and capitalism can only work with strategic poverty. socialism is probably the farthest a country can realistically get to without intervening from capitalist western countries, but that still also gives workers the means of owning their own production.

@brirightback I agree. Norway is a great example of this. Even though they are a capitalist economy on paper, they're a social democracy. They have a massive social wealth fund which is worth over a trillion dollars, I believe. The money comes from their vast oil and natural gas reserves, and it goes towards stuff like pension for the elderly, free university tuition, free universal healthcare, etc. They also have high taxes on millionaires and billionaires. Many Nordic and European countries also function similarly.

i dont think saying that most companies are owned by the same companies means we dont have financial freedom bc for every big company theres a smaller business tryna do the same shit its just that most ppl CHOOSE big companies for convince:p

(even things like social media that use stuff to train ai, sum person made basically instagram for artist after it started using ppls art for ai, another example is buyingfrom a family owned taco truck instead of toca bell or a farmers market instead of walmart)

obviously there are bigger companies that are harder to avoid bc they outcompete any smaller company (like eversource i think) but we CAN try to fight bck through boycotting or trying to find other alternatives its just hard, which all change is

i actually think that having ppl who are lower class/poor is inevitable, i think instead of trying to avoid that we should just raise the standard as for what that lowclass will look like (by providing basic needs somehow and distributing resources better bc we HAVE enough resources to make sure everyone in the country is atleast well fed) so even poor ppl can live decently and have a good chance at becoming successful
we ALSO have enough money to make every public school in the country WAYYYY better but instead we keep CUTTING founding when education and being well fed are kinda the most important things to succeed in life besides hard work TvT

i dont know alot abt this stuff but i think capitalism is fine we just haven't perfected it and need to support eachother instead of big companies ofc its easier said then done:p

@_Izzy_ i get what u mean but like exploitation of workers and that overall class (majority in most if not every country) can't be escaped with capitalism installed. besides proposing a redistribution of resorces fairly is lit socialism or actually more communist leaning.

@_Izzy_ i believe societies should be socialist, if its in favor of the people. if people hate child labor, 16+ hour work days, 0 insurance comp for injury on the job, sick+vacation days, and unfair expulsion from their job...why do they agree with capitalism. a system literally made AGAINST them. (i say this because i think ALL of these issues i listed earlier were abolished because of communist+socialist policies. ex. Vladimir Lenin USSR)

i dont think saying that most companies are owned by the same companies means we dont have financial freedom bc for every big company theres a smaller business tryna do the same shit its just that most ppl CHOOSE big companies for convince:p

@_Izzy_ It doesn't matter how many of us continue not to buy from them or support them, they already have enough mone to support the next 3 generations. @_Izzy_ also, the whole providing basic needs to the poor is literally the whole idea of communism. it puts all humans on even ground, on paper. That's why rich capitalists all hate the idea and poor people love it. It evenly distributes the power, allowing society to grow as an intertwined group, like it should always have. The problem is, the rich people fom earlier all fight it as hard as possible, all while the government systems that are supposed to implement it exploit it for their own benefit, thus creating an imbalance and tilting the power back to themselves, thus it's no longer communism, it's just capitalism in disguise. hence we say that communism will not and has never worked in practice.

@_Izzy_ Furthermore, WE do not have the money to do anything but barely fend for ourselves in the current inflating economy. Four billionares and trillionares make up 50% of america's total printed economy. That's wild, and that's all because of the capitalistic government we have. we can't really boycott the rich companies either, because they own 80% of the market. the random products people are selling, chances are they got the materials from one of those companies. In case you couldn't tell, I'm very adamant about this subject.

                                          yap warning 😹

uggghs, i wish there wasn't an upvote limit, but I also wanted to mention that in capitalism, nor communism, will small businesses thrive. The fact that anyone thinks that there's a possibility of boycotting large corporations large-scale is impossible and only shows your own privilege.
Under capitalism, it's just not possible for the average person to solely support themselves off of small businesses. Not everyone can spend the extra $20 dollars to support a small business. The average working class today cannot support a small businesses that cost $297348294 just for one gallon of milk. The single mother of 4 children who has to work minimum wage jobs just to barely make ends meet while she buys from cheap mega corporations who pay their workers dog shit money, but just enough to keep them crawling back for more. It's a never-ending cycle; corporations pay their workers the scraps, while the big man in office who inherited the company from passed down generations of slave and plantation owners are the only ones who benefit from a capitalist economy. Some people just can't afford the alternatives to the cheap and fast goods. It's not "convenience," some people just can't afford it otherwise.

There's a reason why there has been several chapters of american history where workers go on strike. Whether it's because of unfair wages or improper working conditions. The average cost of living keeps rising, while minimum wage has only been raised about $2. The average cost of daily living was $1,000 to $1,500 per month in the 2000s. The average cost of living today is over $2,000, and that's only for basic survival. You constantly hear stories of Gen Z having to obtain multiple jobs and having to live off of tips earned. Under communism, this wouldn't be the case because everyone has the money to sustain their own needs.

Furthermore adding onto the small business topic, it takes even your own amount of wealth to start up a business, yet it will never succeed in the way large mega chain corporations do. The system is built off of deception; sure, you can make side money, but you'll never achieve the great amounts of wealth because the system is meant to keep the lower classes down while the rich keep getting richer (which is also why there's so much capitalist propaganda spread here in the US).

i mean, I'm not saying that communism is perfect and has zero flaws, it's just that here in America where all of our governments is fueled by corruption and insider trading in the political sense, it's the better alternative. I just personally would prefer that everyone has their own set of wealth so no one has to work their whole lives, and everyone can live meeting their needs. Having the freedom of choosing the path you want to go down in life is what freedom means to me.
Although, a doctor being paid the same wage as someone with a lower ranked job is something that I personally don't really find great either since they do have to go to extra school and put in effort to obtain the status, but greed is only incentivized, and removing the classes removes the need to collect and hoard all money. I believe that for social/humanity occupations, you should be hired for your passion and skills rather than to gain social and economic status because it ensures that everyone gets the medical care, safety, and assistance they need by someone who genuinely cares about the wellness of their community. That last part was mainly just me wishful thinking, but throughout my life when i was younger, I would hear other children wish to become Doctors. They weren't aware that being in the healthcare field was regarded as a well-paying job, so that counter argument is just idiotic since communism doesn't stop anyone from becoming a doctor themselves.

i also just wanted to add this:

Communism ≠ Dictatorship,, it's just a shame that most communist countries today have shit government with leaders that are rotten. I'm not gonna ignore the fact that communism can lead to power imbalances, but its not guaranteed and will be a large-scaled factor of extortion that it is here in the US. The US is an oligarchy, controlled by the billion and trillionaires of the world.

An alternative to communism that still supports capitalism would be to tax the rich, yet in this world, that is never going to happen unless we get someone who actually cares about the good of the citizens. Once again, capitalism only benefits the rich and will always lead to corruption as long as human nature exists. The government is run by the elites; the rich. The rich fund the political campaigns and practically choose the outcome of the country. You're moronic if you take everything the media outlets or our leaders say at face value.
