so your talking to someone and they are like, a senior in highschool and they say they wont be able see there partner as they are a freshman and they are going into 10th grade next year and you're like, wtf... pause broski and they don't see the issue and they something like, it's not creepy, they're 17 and there partner is like, 16 and a half and you're just looking at them and you're like, ''never tell anyone the grade b4 the age''.
like, have you ever been in a smaller situation? I think people would save themselves a LOT of ridicule if they just said age not grade...

Tbh, I used to be confused with dating a 13 year old girl while I was 16(Which- I still am-), I SWEAR I was just her emotional support

@Yanderemenhera its crazy bc ppl be so chill abt too, i knew a girl who was dating a 16 or 17 yr old when she was like idk 13 and she said they had plans to only meet irl when theyre both 18 and ppl act so chill abt like theyre gaslighting you into thinking its not strange

@_Izzy_ i've seen times (what im refuring to in the post) where they say grade and you're sitting thinking ''oh God.... is this even le-'' and then you realize the ''age gap'' is very small like a year or less and you have to explain to your home boy that they can't be saying that shit bc someone is gonna lose there shit at the lack of context that there partner got held back in school and they skipped two grades and they are actually super close in age

ok for me and my partner, we met at 15 and 16. nothing abusured or bad. fairly normal. I could say ''oh, I'm not in school anymore, but I'm dating a high schooler.'' and that statement, while techincally true; sounds fucking horrible without context

i was with a freshman when i was a senior but i was a year ahead so the age gap was only abt a year... people thought i was mad weird tho

@Yanderemenhera all the time in my school,it’s hella normalized,I don’t see the problem in saying grade,for me you kinda gotta have the common sense to rationalize it

@haydencc08 my freind (20) is technically dating a highschooler, she is 18, turning 19 this year and is finishing highschool. I feel like my friend shouldn't start off his conversation with "i'm dating a high schooler!" or else he's gonna sound like scott pilgrum

its like a year and a few months between them. my friend says his girlfriends freinds are going after dudes older than he is so they are like 17 tryna hit on 25 year olds
